Jake One Reveals Work With Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Action Bronson

Jake One says he's been cooking in the kitchen with the likes of Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Action Bronson and more.
This August 13, Brother Ali will release his fifth studio album Mourning in America and Dreaming in Color, produced entirely by Jake One. Now, in a recent interview with HipHop-N-More, the Seattle-born beatsmith discusses his latest project and and some interesting collaborations he has in store for fans.
Jake One discussed his recent recording experiences with Brother Ali, describing him as "the most intense" - and often demanding - emcee with whom he's collaborated. Despite this, he said that the two have a good report outside of the studio, making the recording process more natural.
"He’s probably the most intense artist I’ve worked with because he’s very demanding," he explained. "It is also good because we’re genuinely friends and I’m not afraid to say anything to him. We’re very honest about whatever we’re doing. The best thing about working with him is that he really believes in what he’s saying and rapping about. He’s very serious about the message he wants to get across to the listeners."
Jake One also revealed that he's been working with a variety of other artists outside of Ali, includingDrake, who debuted their work together in a recent video. He says that he doesn't know what the track will be used for, but that it's not the only beat he sent the Canadian emcee. He also revealed that he's been working with Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, Action Bronson and Scarface.
"I’m not even sure at this point [what Drake will use the song for]," he said. "I’ve been talking to him off and on, sending him stuff. There were some records that he really liked. That was one of them he recorded. Hopefully, you will get to hear the music soon."
He added, "I got some stuff man. Scarface definitely I know has something coming. His album is really dope. I have a couple of beats on there. There are a couple of big ones I did but I don’t wanna jinx it man...oh yeah, I did some work with Action Bronson, we have something in the works...Kendrick [Lamar] actually rapped on some stuff, I just don’t have it yet [laughs]. Even ScHoolboy Q rapped on some stuff. I don’t think that will be on Kendrick’s album but yeah, he definitely rapped on some stuff."
